An institute for the further training of qualified chefs will open in Windhoek in September 2005.
By late October the Namibian Institute for Culinary Education (NICE) will be linked to a professionally managed restaurant in order to guarantee practically oriented training. The NICE, a so-called Public Private Partnership Programme, is the initiative of Stefan Brückner and Ralf Herrgott of NamibRand Safaris.
The Institute is financially supported by the Deutsche Entwicklungsgesellschaft (DEG) and will be located in a historic building in Windhoek West, renovated and expanded for this purpose.
